A place to discuss pro-conservative stuff

  1. Be excellent to each other. Civility, No Racism, No Bigotry, No Slurs, No calls to violences, No namecalling, All that good stuff, follow lemm.ee's rules, follow the rules of your instance, etc.

  2. We are a Pro-Conservative forum. Posts must have a clear pro-conservative, or anti left-wing bias. We are interested in promoting conservatism and discussing things that might get ignored elsewhere. All sources are acceptable, however reputable sources with a reputation for factual reporting are preferred.

  3. Dissent is allowed in the comments, but try to be constructive; if you do not agree, then provide a reason which is backed up by references or a reasonable alternative interpretation of the provided facts. That means the left wing is welcome to state their opinions, but please keep it in good faith.

A polite request, not a rule, if you feel the need to report a comment, please don't reply to it.

I wish we could get everyone who is economically illiterate out of the government, but unfortunately religious nutjobs and bigots keep voting more of them in.

@barsquid @Amoxtli Fair enough, #BlueAnon is pretty much a religion at this point

I always enjoy that the fake thing you guys are trying to push is named after your own insane cult which the entire rest of the nation recognizes as delusional.

@barsquid Hey don't look at me, I hate #Qanon. I agree, they both are equal parts irrational and insane.

@barsquid @Amoxtli

That's the diversity vote

End diversity.

Remember back in the day, George H.W. Bush was running for the GOP nomination against Ronald Reagan. Bush called Reagan's tax cut plan 'voo-doo economics.' After Reagan won the nomination Bush was happy to abandon reality for the Veep slot.

Also, wage and price controls have been used in the past.

Also, wage and price controls have been used in the past.

The only time price controls have been shown to work is in the face of monopolies. The rest of the time they have caused problems.

They 'worked' during WW2 but that is an extreme case. That is how we ended up with our insurance working the way it does.

Worked as in controlled prices yes, but it did not work for the economy. Rationing controlled demand but as costs to produce went up skimflation was used. Meat manufacturers started filling sausages with crackers and potatoes. Meat producers stopped producing after Congress reinstated price controls after ww2. The biggest problem is that ending price control saw inflation skyrocket in order to catch back up. Farm bills were used to curb this.

It is funny how liberals don't understand economics at all. I have seen them call for the ending of farm subsidies.

They don't seem to grasp, that would create wild swing in the cost of food and the poor would be hammered.

Farmers have been vilified by the left so they are out to get them. They don't take time consider what would happen if farm bills were removed.

I would like to see us get back to more family farming over corporate farming. Corporate farming is bad for the supply. It’s often so specialized

Of course a conservative site is going to have a pro-tax stance when it is anti-labor, regardless of it also being pushed by conservatives.

Because Harris said it, it's bad? The mental gymnastics of this is amazing.

Given the volume of trash that OP posts and it purely being Democrat-bad, I am fairly convinced it is a foreign actor. We should have seen articles about how Cruz introduced the No Tax on Tips Act, but no. We get this instead.
