While i already knew that edge-lit TVs are worse picture quality wise, i didn't expect the design to have such a negative impact on reliability (even on higher end models).

123°C measured at the LEDs and uniformity issues in 64% of their sample size (vs. 20% in the non edge-lit LED TVs) is pretty damning.
