I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I figured there would probably be an easy way to do this but I haven't been able to figure it out. Suppose I have a bang-syntax community such as "!syncforlemmy@lemmy.world" copied to my clipboard. How do I open this community within Sync? Everything I've found so far just searches for this as text.

PM it to your alt account and click the link from the sent messages.

I don't think there's a straightforward implementation of opening them directly.

I don't have an alt account, just trying to get from Lemmy in Firefox to Sync. Is there a better way? Presumably the implementation would be the same as clicking on a link with the same text.

You can leave a comment somewhere and delete it right after clicking?

That's true, I could do that. Is there really not a better way from within the app though? I'm pretty sure in sync for Reddit I could type in the name of a subreddit and go directly there.

Ok looks like I can DM myself and then click the link. That works reasonably well, but it would definitely be a nice feature to support the bang syntax to go directly to a community

Like from Firefox mobile?

I use this.
