I told myself after yesteday that I wasn't going to lie around in bed all morning today, but what did I do - stay in bed until 12 on my phone despite how UTTERLY BEAUTIFUL it is outside.

Well alright. Can't change the past; getting a load of laundry in while having a late cuppa and cake; once it's out to dry I am going to walk to Fairfield (3.8km away) and back to get bulk wool wash and the tortillas I had been planning to make jackfruit tacos with.

Then home to do a whole bunch of cooking and an online catchup with an overseas friend.

I wonder if my lazing around so much on weekend mornings is due to the sheer amount of caffeine I have during the week. Brain needs to recover from all the adenosine receptors being flooded.

Is anyone here into modern spirituality stuff? Was supposed to go to this cool thing in Brunswick today, like an expo, but I can't because of the migraine.

Been really trying to find that community and I'm pretty heartbroken that I can't go to this expo ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ˜”

My mum is extremely spiritual, I grew up learning how to do tarot readings, which crystals have certain energies, aura readings, palm readings, etc.

I don't believe any of it, all it did was exacerbate her schizophrenia lol.

There is a crystal shop on Sydney Rd now though, and I bought a small garnet because they're pretty. My inner magpie loves crystals and stones. If you have a specific crystal in mind, I can have a look for you! Let me know!

Iโ€™d like something green to go with my big amethyst and citrine. Just a colour thing.

Not my thing but I noticed these events get suggested pretty heavily on Facebook and Eventbrite. If the thing in Brunswick has a Facebook event all the suggested events should be pretty similar.

There are also these witchy markets on semi regularly, but they move around. There might be one on near you soon

What are your favourite soups to make? I need a bit of variety.

So many good ones listed here! Iโ€™ll add cauliflower, leek and potato. I make it with a base mix of stock and milk, then once veg is cooked blitz it up and add a handful of grated cheddar and heat and stir through until it melts in. Sooo good. I like to put plenty of cracked pepper on top when eating.

Your reminder that Spicks and Specks is on tv tonight. The one show a week that justifies the tv antennas continued existence.

We watched some old episodes of Ready Steady Wiggle from 10 years ago and the new episodes are so much better. They're more cohesive and have better pacing.

There are 8 wiggles in the main lineup now, it makes me wonder if there's a US wiggles branch.

If not, Anthony should take the Trans-Siberian Orchestra approach and have two groups of the wiggles that just tour each coast up and down.

It would make more than enough to set everyone involved with the wiggles up for retirement

I inadvertently listened to most of MSO's performance Carmina Burrara yesterday live on ABC Classical while doing my taxes and was all "oh it's THAT doomsday song!" And then all of yesterday arvo and today it's been bugging me, where did I hear an English language parody of it, was it misheard lyrics, no it was simpler, was it an ad, what ad was it, what ad, was it the UK, was it here...

... and then it finally came to me out of nowhere this evening. I only knew it from Gruen as it aired before I moved to Australia, but the wave of nostalgia over LOTR and the excitement of videos on the internet came flooding back once I watched it and it sent me into a bit of a YouTube rabbit hole. Many of you probably know this one.

It's a big ad, ve-ry big ad...
