background play not working with streams only on one phone (lemm.ee)

so I've got a Google pixel 6, and a Google pixel 8. I exported the settings from revanced on the 6 and sent them to the 8. I've double checked that background play is turned on for everything, but background play doesn't work for live streams on my Google pixel 8. background play still works for normal videos, and the background play works for live streams on my Google pixel 6.

is there a setting I'm missing?

Have you checked the usual: battery saving settings for this app?

I do have "allow background use" turned on in the battery settings
