From a mechanic friend of mine: the new state highway patrol Dodge Durango pursuit SUVs all have oil cooler problems and they will absolutely roach an engine in this heat...so go ahead, you got 'em

"Pursuit SUV" is such a dumb concept in the first place. A tall and heavy vehicle going fast is dumb. A Pursuit Vehicle should have proper weight distribution (low to the ground and balanced) for stability and handling.

Yeah, but on the other hand, you can put a lot more Punisher stickers on an SUV.

Supposedly police need pursuit SUVs to chase vehicles off-road. But the real reason is obviously so that the cops can feel like strong spouse-abusers at work too.

They could use cars like actual law enforcement but the cops need booster seats to see, so they get an SUV to look like a big boy.

Tell me you have a Pentastar without telling me you have a Pentastar.

If that's the engine we're talking about, the oil cooler and filter housing assembly is made of plastic, and it's under the intake manifold. Aftermarket replacements (Dorman) are all aluminum and do not have this issue.
