The people in power want you stupid and desperate, because they are outnumbered.

You'd have to pay me a half million a year to be a teacher. It's insane people still take a job that stressful and demanding for such little money, only to be told they're overpaid.
The education crisis is well over 40 years old. Some school districts are lucky to have 30% trained staff in their schools. Meaning, 70% of their staff are people they picked off the streets that could pass a background check. As someone that was a teacher I'm thankful for those bodies to help out, but in no way are they qualified to educate children. Most schools are glorified baby sitters.
Weird how my school district that pays a living wage has 200 qualified teachers applying to every position. It amazing what paying g 30-40% more than the surrounding states does.
A public education crisis for some is a private education opportunity for others.
"Nobody wants to work anymore."
Yeah, boggles my mind that people worry about culture war nuggets in schools when this is going on.
If I had a kid, to be blunt, I would care way more about how much the teacher is getting paid than pronoun usage or religious regulations. This goes for extreme progressive and conservative issues.
