Good night everyone. ๐ฝ

Horrible stupid last remaining symptoms of this cold with the nasal congestion over night and post nasal drip.
im on the beach and it is unexpectedly pleasant out here
Finally bought and played a bit of Robo Quest last night. It's a fun little fps rougelike with some Doom Eternal influences.
I have this bad habit of wish listing games and never actually buying them so I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one
I have achieved nothing so far... Thought I had given myself enough of a rest but came back to the flat after a coffee and a little walk and my body override me and went back to sleep. Have finally managed to wake up. Got some black beans in the instant pot for meals this week. Microwavibg leftovers for lunch.
New plan. Just get the clothes away, a tidy reset and a sweep of the floors.
just another rest day, more telly i suppose
Ok guys you really need to stop buying sauces. It's considered hoarding when you have more than 6.
Ummmm. 6 on each shelf, right?
I bought a litre of fresh orange juice at the Mildura farmers market yesterday. I took a swig before realising that was probably a bad idea since it still needed to spend about 8 hours in my bag. I think it's meant to be refrigerated, and it definitely wouldn't have been treated. But I'm already sick so I'm going to drink it and just hope it doesn't make me worse. It tastes a lot more acidic than supermarket stuff, so that might help it not kill me, I hope. It smells fine, anyway
I had a swig of it and a chorizo and cheese sandwich and I'm starting to feel better. I think now I need a nap though
Given the cool temperatures outside and the acid in the juice it's probably fine, although you wouldn't make a habit of it.
She'll be right, it's more likely to ferment a little than go off, see if it goes bubbly.
TV review. Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I'm rewatching this series.
Most of the series is a homage to Sherlock Holmes with D'Onofrio playing Holmes and Erbe playing Watson. Most episodes are greatly toned down for television, even tho many stories are based on true crimes the true horror of the crimes are not shown, not the scenes, not the act, not the suffering of families, not the toll on law enforcement. It is an entertaining who dunnit.
But every now and then L&O; CI shows some reality and it's truly terrifying, disturbing.
Series 4 episode 17, Shibboleth, appears to be based on a true crime made famous again in James Elroy's book, The Black Dahlia. Being a huge Elroy fan I read the book when it first came out, disturbing, in his detailed descriptions we build a mental picture of what happened and the last moments of the victims. The mental images stay with you. I recognised this case straight away.
I mention this episode for a few reasons. Yes, we can learn from true crime stories, learn what is possible and hopefully how to prevent ourselves and our loved ones from becoming victims.
But also it demonstrates the storytelling of crime shows, demonstrates that nearly all crime shows show the idea of violence, they don't show real violence.
I had trouble watching this episode.
