Mike Pence is a milquetoast HIV enthusiast with the looks and personality of a Q-Tip but it didn't deter the dimwits in 2016.

Conservative Christians / Evangelicals loved Pence. He was a big reason Trump was elected imo. I don't think this new jabroni will help trump like pence did.

That's good news, I hope so. They just seem to turn a blind eye to everything.

The vocal components are loud but don't let them speak for everyone. Pence was a special candidate. He had a legitimate following. Vance might be able to get the GOP vote but he's not getting the Christian vote like Pence was able to represent.

Isn't Donald going to get the Christian vote on his own because most Evangelicals have lost their goddamn minds?

[–] greenhorn@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

That's what I thought. My Christian parents went from anti-Hillary voters in 2016 to pro-Trump voters in 2020.

I’m not sure Trump needs that kind of supporting appeal this time around. He survived an assassination attempt - to his religious followers, that is divine providence.

I believe the new jabroni was chosen for entirely different reasons. There is a significant MAGA uprising going on in Silicon Valley, and Vance is well connected there. This is an inroad previously impassable for republicans…

Trump picked Pence to shore up the evangelical vote. Vance was chosen to shore up the Nazi vote. Easy peasey.
