To give an example of what I'm thinking of...Kingdom of Loathing, Lioden, Flight Rising.

What are some others? I'm sure there's entire genres of browser-based games I've missed.

Minor spoilers but... this is my favorite clicker game because it has an ending.

You can finish the game. And once you finish, you feel accomplished and never have to return (or you can replay if you feel like it I guess)
