I love my PS5 but I haaaate the way it looks so I'd like to be able to take the guts and fan out of it and pop it in to a simple, elegant, 3D printed case...do these exist?

Failing that I would be happy to build one out of wood if there were some kind of template for the ports etc...has anyone done this? Do you have a link to pics of your project?

There must be something that can be done to make the PS5 less offensive to look at, I've tried but even so, my attempts are not enough to make me hate it less, I've attached a pic of what mine looks like now (except I've rounded off the popped colar now, this is an older pic) hope it works.

I've seen the DIY Perks project and that's nice and all but it's a bit 'CEOs office' for my liking.

As for my PS5, I have an orange LED behind the PS logo and I attached EL wire along the sides of the front panel that lights up orange to match the paint job, these were wired to the USB power on the inside so I had to disable USB power in rest mode so that they turn off when not in use.

Looks like you’ve just painted yours, the dark plates are differently shaped than the originals. They hug closer to the profile of the main body, instead of having those big Batman ears.

That is an older pic, I cut the Batman ears off with a Dremmel and sanded them down to look very similar to the Dbrand ones but not quite as fitted a look. I like the Dbrand ones but I don't want to pay nearly £100 for some plates.

Here's a quick pic of it now...

That looks dope! I may give that a try with mine sometime. Had never considered how much better it would look til I saw this.

Make sure you've got some super fine sandpaper to hand when you do, it gives it a nice smooth finish and almost looks like OEM. To get the right curve I just laid a pencil on top of the center part and traced the curve from that, worked out OK.

Wow that looks great! I wouldn’t buy them either in your case.
