Hi there,

I've used to play OSRS many many years ago and enjoyed it at the time. I never maxed an account nor did I get too familiar with the whole world, as I only played free to play version. However, ever now and again I think about start playing again but I can't really make it stick.. As in, I keep loosing interest after a short while. Anyway, I wanted to ask for some recommendations for what could keep me playing..

I don't remember any of my accounts, so I'll start fresh. Should I pay for membership straight of the bat? Or should I try to complete all free to play quests first? Is there anything in particular that keeps you coming back to OSRS that you would share?

Appreciate any tips!

I don't play this game and have no idea how I ended up here. But, I know the answer to this one, I think.

I once wanted to live in the desert. I worked for it for a whole year (when such was possible): saving, planning, changing vehicles, then job hunting. I totally got there.

After one week in the desert I decided I fucking hate it. For awhile I thought it was a total fucking loss. But, then I realized that if I'd not gone to the desert I'd never have learned I hated it. I'd still be unhappy and still wanting something that wasn't going to work. I'm glad I went to the desert or I'd never have found my love of the mountains.

If it's not a significant sacrifice to pay for a membership then buy the damned thing. See if it makes you happy. What is it, $10-20 for a month? And, that'd answer a question about happiness you've had for years. Seems cheap.

If that $10-20 is important, PM me. I'll give it to you. Get your answer. I'd consider it money well spent.

Thanks for your answer and offer, and glad you also found love for the mountains! ⛰ I'll give membership a go, as you say it's not that expensive.

How has it been so far? Are you using Runelite client? Makes the game so much better with quality of life

Sorry for the week late reply...

Its been really quite refreshing to jump back into this actually! Still enjoying it :) I started of using the new HDOS client, which was quite nice, but then tried Runelite and have stayed with that, altough with some nice tweaks here and there that I gathered from some content creators (Settled).

Considering it had been so many years since I last played, I started ofc from scratch following the basic adventure path which got me going good. Completed that the other day, so now looking to start on some free-to-play missions. I fee like if I can manage to complete at least a good amount of them and still enjoy OSRS, then I will try out the membership!
