This Gen Xer has to subscribe to the law of flat surfaces or every part of my apartment becomes home to wooden toys, fidget and stress relief items, small musical instruments, penguin statues, polymer clay creations, children's completed school projects, collectables, antiques, piles of books and art.

My desk is usually the first flat surface where clutter starts to creep in. Always feel so much better after I've dealt with it.
