I think I actually flinched reading that. Some pictures are ok, but excessive volumes of pictures means it's hard for any one picture to really shine.

Of course you could what galleries do and rotate their pictures (ie replace one with another at regular intervals).

Even so, negative space can draw your attention to a piece in a way that other methods can't.
