Dust comes from shed skin cells so frequently used rooms are more dusty

Oh, that would make sense. For the first few months I was here, I did spend most of the day in my room, probably in the vicinity of my desk. But I thought dust was mostly dirt from outside + clothing fibers

From what I understand you shed dead skin cells and the dust mites eat it, pooping out dust. I could be wrong. But that's why you get told to wash bedding on hot to kill them
