They're just fun little nods to PlayStation's history. Previous AstroBot games have been fun little 3D platformers, with little tidbits that pay tribute to the PlayStation and its various controllers and accessories and even major series.

This is just saying that there are going to be a ton of references, hinting at the scope and budget of the game.

I'm curious, why do PlayStation players get so upset over exclusives when things like this are so well received?

Playstation players are upset by the lack of exclusives. There are like 4 or 5 games that are only on the PS5 and one of them is Astro's Playroom; a tech demo platformer that comes with the system to show off everything it and the new controller can do. There is nary a reason to move from PS4 to PS5 even if you're a hardcore Playstation fan.

Running things like Days Gone at 60 FPS was a good enough reason for me.
