I am certainly not suggesting MTG is some feminist icon but would this have happened if a man posted a picture in a bathing suit?
Closest thing I can think of is people memeing pictures of Elon Musk, Zuckerberg, and Bezos in swimsuits.
Australia used to have a Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, who regularly appeared in tight speedos. There were some reactions around that.
Same for that time Putin went riding shirtless. IIRC the Now Show wrote a song about it.
