There's a lot I forgot about the source material, including Shiki's theory that the attack on the empire was also a diversion based on his views of which hero is a long term threat rather than a short term one.
Also is nice that we finally get to see the demiplane residents actually do something after all the training they've been doing. Convenient to have a small army in your pocket.
And not sure how to feel about the goddess meeting. Perhaps sad he didn't get a punch in, but not for lack of effort at least? An interesting relationship where it seems they're clearly at odds, and vocal about it, but can't really do anything against each other easily too.
You and me both. Each week I have like three lightbulbs go off as it jogs my memory. For me this week it was also that the main focus is Hibiki. Additionally, I had forgotten the story point around his new gift of learning to speak Common and the issues that causes. However, seeing a character bleed from just about every orifice after simply learning a language did a good job of jogging my memory on that one.
This is my take as well. When I had read the WN ages ago, the story wasn't complete, so I don't know what the end of the story looks like and if there is some future confrontation with the Goddess to come. However, my impression here is that Makoto can comprehend that he isn't able to take on the Goddess yet. He even says that she would have killed him if her rules didn't constrain her in some way. I don't think we will get it this season, maybe a future hypothetical season 3, but I do wish that we could see more of what has been happening behind the scenes among the deities.
The WN is not complete, and the LN is still catching up to the WN, so no ending is known yet. The WN is now supposedly in its final chapter, but there was a 2 year gap on Alphapolis between the last released installment January this year and the one prior, we don't know when it is going to finish.
Been trying to find the LN, but all I've found freaking anywhere is the WN, it's a bit annoying

I'm not averse to actually pay instead of messing with ads, but unfortunately i don't know Japanese yet, I'd have gone for that otherwise. Who has the English translation? Does anyone have it? Lacking that, is there any scanlation/translation group having the LN (not the WN)? I've found nothing yet, only the WN
