My head is so sore from last night. Those damn smoke alarms. I am pretty sure the ones we have are loud enough to cause hearing damage, at least my tinnitus thinks so. I guess it gave the neighbour with the car alarm a taste of his own medicine though, so there's that
There’s set standards about how loud fire alarms must be to be compliant. It’s meant to be really loud and piercing because it’s supposed to wake people up and be something that’s hard to ignore. Often people have been saved because neighbours heard the alarm. Not fun if you have to listen to it for extended period of time though. Hope you feel a bit better today and that your arm settled down too.
I believe ours are actually louder than standard residential alarms, which is what I was getting at. At least in all the houses I've been at with just regular standalone battery operated alarms, they aren't anything as loud as ours. Although all of them going off at once probably doesn't help
Thank you, my arm is feeling a lot better today. I thought I'd have a gnarly bruise, but it's just a little red and that's it.
