I really wish people would stop using whom if they don’t know how to use it.
And it's not even that hard, just try the sentence with he/him to test it out:
Who lives above? He lives above.
Whom is this for? This is for him.
Exactly. If I want to go out of my way to sound correct, why not go all the way and look up how to actually be correct. It takes but oh so few seconds.
