Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Do you just scour the internet searching for whatever you can find that is critical of Biden and post it here?

[–] urist@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 6 months ago (2 children)

I agree with the other posters. Nothing about this article is critical of Biden (or Trump for that matter).

Unless of course you think that acknowledging that some people don’t like either candidate is an anti Biden opinion… seems like a logical leap; this article is very dry.

People are allowed to be biased, anyway, this is just an internet community. Nobody here is claiming to be an objective journalist or something.

OP is a mod on NEWS. Or he had mod powers. He deleted my comment that was essentially critical of Hamas. How did this agent get Mod status on such a popular server??

[–] Mastengwe@lemm.ee 0 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

That or he reported you to a mod that agrees with him. Either way, there’s tons of biased mods on lemmy. Even in this community there’s a huge bias amongst mods.

Which is disappointing. I thought this place would be different that Reddit, but no. It’s just the same thing only with less nuance to the hive.

[–] 2fat4that@kbin.social 1 points 6 months ago

It appears to be a race to see which piece of shit can create the more popular server.

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Congratulations, you fell for the propaganda.

[–] urist@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It’s a poll. Mentioning that these people exist is hardly propaganda. They exist. It’s hard to strategize how to reach voters who don’t agree with you if you bury your head in the sand.

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You mean polls where one outlet says one thing while another outlet says another on the exact same issue within hours of "reporting." Yeah, good luck with that.

[–] urist@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It’s a poll ran by a university. Nate Silver found this institution reliable

Sometimes polls say different things. That’s why you do more than one. Sampling different populations in different ways gives different results. There isn’t anything nefarious happening here.

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Again, good luck with that champ.

[–] p5yk0t1km1r4ge@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

What's wrong with criticism of Joe?

[–] Mastengwe@lemm.ee 3 points 6 months ago

When it’s nothing but, and it’s coming from the same person over and over- it’s a clear agenda.

[–] the_post_of_tom_joad@sh.itjust.works 0 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

Do you follow op around just to harass them? If you had read the article (or even the whole title) youd see this article doesn't focus on Biden, or any candidate at all.

[–] Mastengwe@lemm.ee 2 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

I follow the community, and OP posts this type of rhetoric VERY frequently here. I will call it out for what it is.

Is that going to be a problem for you?

[–] the_post_of_tom_joad@sh.itjust.works -3 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

I didn't ask you that question, i made a rhetorial statement to illustrate the low worth of your comment.

And now im telling you yes, your comment is a problem for me because i like content. you are bullying a content creator, and you don't. read. articles.

You are content i do not like. I would block you because of your shameless, stupid behavior, but i can't. Youre bullying a content creator, which means leaving you alone could mean i get less.

Dont you dare speak pridefully for your behavior. You don't deserve pride for that, or anger for this. If we lived in a better world, or were you a better person? You might actually learn some shame.

What you do need now is to recognize what a child you've been, and rectify it going forward.

Begin your growth. Everyone is waiting.

[–] Mastengwe@lemm.ee 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

Bias absolutely should be called out. And defending bad content because it’s content is pretty fucking ignorant. Reddit provides content. Do you get pissed off when people call Reddit out for what it is?

In addition- hypocrisy should be called out as well. And you bullying about me calling out OP over the propaganda they share is a pretty damn good example of it.

Lastly, I take great pride in the fact that I have educated myself enough understand how nuance works. It’s allowed me to spot things like the bias in OP’s post history….. among other things.

Now, you’re free to respond with another Karenistic tirade about what I do and don’t have the right to say, but it won’t change the fact that I am MANY others here know what OP is up to.

And we point it out because we actually care about the quality of the content, not just the amount of it.

[–] the_post_of_tom_joad@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I think you probably spent the whole time defending your actions as honorable, but i don't have the stomach for a whole paragraph of you rationalizing being a shithead to another human being. you probably rationalized that his message must be attacked for the greater good or something?

Homie, you. are. the. problem. I absolutely hate, like really hate people like you. You're the same online or off, and the only way you'll change is if someone stronger makes you. That is who you are. I want you to understand it. In your bones. You are not righteous. You are not helping. You are not neccessary.

Now let me express how things will work going forward.

I will continue to harp on you every time you do this childish, bullying exercise. I will do this for awhile. I don't suspect i can make you do anything, or change, but i can hope that having someone like me do the same thing to you, that you are doing to someone else, flips that rusty empathy switch in your brain, and allows clarity of thought.

Probably not, i will probably get bored first, stubborn people are extremely tiring to me.

Ill see you soon

[–] Mastengwe@lemm.ee 0 points 6 months ago

Cool story. Didn’t read it. Going to block you now as I can’t stand wall-of-text rhetoric from socialists.

Byeeeee!

[–] return2ozma@lemmy.world -5 points 6 months ago (2 children)

It's literally a Monmouth poll... Are those not allowed anymore?

[–] Mastengwe@lemm.ee 5 points 6 months ago (3 children)

That’s entirely irrelevant to my point. Your every post is always suspiciously critical of only ONE thing.

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

Yep and it's always the same old tired talking points.

[–] anticolonialist@lemmy.world -4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

They only want echo chamber bias confirmation

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Oh, the irony.
