I occasionally have a game that suddenly won't launch. You can try verifying the files.
Usually I have to restart, even if I just powered up the SD. Sometimes launching another game (like some simple platformer) then exiting and starting up the game will work.
I wish there were some easier way to see logs or output from failed launches.
If you're wanting logs for a game that's originally for windows and is running through proton, you can add
PROTON_LOG=1 %command%
to your launch options in steam game properties. It will generate a log file in your home folder.By chance It Takes Two decided it would not start shortly after this post. I tossed in the log command and it got my log file. lol. 8 can't make yeada nor tails of it.
I verified files, rebooted several times, change proton versions and nothing worked.
On a whim I launched it in desktop mode and it fired up. And it now launches in game mode as well.
I love the SD but it is so temperamental!
