I just had my 8-year anniversary and went to a Mediterranean restaurant to celebrate. It was so nice and so delicious! On a more serious note, I'm struggling with impulsive spending right now and need to reign myself in. Going to challenge myself to go 2 weeks without buying anything other than groceries and must-have toiletries, and hopefully after 2 weeks it will pass. Someone kill me now.

Dexmethylphenidate aka Focalin made me very, very spendy. I didn't even realize the connection at first. Methylphenidate never had that effect at all. I was surprised to find that known side effects of some dopamine agonists (used to treat Parkinson's disease) include compulsive gambling, shopping, and obsession with sex. Not sure exactly where I'm going with this, but maybe extend yourself some grace and compassion because it really might not be a matter of will power. Frickin dopamine. I swear.

That's fascinating, thank you for sharing. I feel like I learn new things about ADHD every day. And you're right, self-compassion is always in order.
