You have to wonder how much testing they did on that 4 cent rivet

Is that right? Their solution is a single rivet? Can an engineer let us know if this will be enough to hold up for the life of the vehicle?

it's not to hold for life, just for the nexr quarter

The driver will be fine. It's the school kids with heads at the same level as the pointy hood that I worry about.

Surprised it’s a single rivet like that. I would assume a bolt top and bottom. At least a rivet top and bottom.
