Having used a big noisy leaf blower I cannot see any benefits over a good broom in most cases.

I've seen some really interesting electric whipper snippers where they have a battery backpack (Stihl I think) which would be good for commercial use. When I worked for a mowing business my boss was saying that he wanted to go electric because it would be cheaper to run the mowers and they would be a bit lighter than the commercial ones he had.
