Tehran launched more than 300 missiles and drones at Israeli targets, raising fears of a major escalation in the Israel-Hamas war.

European leaders condemned the retaliatory attack by Iran on Israel late Saturday amid soaring fears of a major escalation in the Mideast conflict.

Tehran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones against targets in Israel, Iranian state media reported, in a move that could spark an escalation in the fighting in the Middle East. Iran had threatened to retaliate against a deadly Israeli strike on its consulate in Syria.

The Israeli military said the launches numbered more than 300 but 99 percent of them were intercepted. U.S. President Joe Biden said American forces helped Israel down “nearly all” the drones and missiles and pledged to convene allies to develop a unified response.

European Council President Charles Michel said EU leaders “strongly condemn” the attack by Iran on Israel. “Everything must be done to prevent further regional escalation,” he said in a post on X.

Condemning Iran because of attacking back but when Israel does it - it suppose to be okay? Double standards.

No, you are wrong. The EU condemned the atack on the embassy in Damascus, see link

"BRUSSELS, April 3 (Reuters) - The European Union on Wednesday condemned an airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Damascus on April 1 that killed seven people and called on countries in the region to show restraint."

Please respond in an informed way, instead of escalating things without any basis. Let's stay on topic.

I honestly did not know that, thank you. Can’t keep up with all the news while life goes on.

But did they do anything beyond empty words? Or did they keep supplying arms to Israel knowing that Israel will keep doing what it's been doing?

The UN is toothless, and the few times it has intervened in geopolitical conflicts, it generally did not end well for anyone.

So this is more the EU going, "Can everybody stop trying to kill each other for five minutes?" rather than them taking sides
