Perseverance itself isn't returning, but it does collect sample canisters that could be. The canisters would need to be transferred to some future mission currently named "Mars Sample Return"
So, essentially, their plan is to land something in more or less the same place? Or have another aerial flyer? I need to read more, this is exciting.
