More like scientific process has become such a chore and polluted with so much (performative) bureaucracy that people would use anything to offload some of it away. Make the process of scientific advancement fun again, and there's no reason to use AI to bypass it. Same reason why most existing artists didn't immediately switch to GenAI to do their art, and most actively hate it.
