I am not sure if this is the right place to post. I have a step grand daughter who is 9, her English is coming on leaps and bounds and she is doing very well at school(in all subjects). I would like to take her some English reading books when I visit next month and I have no idea of what age range I should be looking at for her. I assume at age range younger than she is as English is a second language but also I don’t want to insult her. Any ideas?

well, it's a little difficult when we don't know her level of english but maybe the first Harry Potter book? it might be a bit big (too many pages) but iirc the language is fairly simple.

if not that then maybe something she has read in Swedish already which will make it easier to follow along even if she doesn't know all the words. perhaps something by Astrid Lindgren, a lot of her books are translated to several different languages.
