Hej Sweden! I am an international student at Handels, and planning to hike/trek to Sweden’s tallest mountain - Kebnekaise. I plan to fly/take the train to Kiruna, get on the bus to Nikkaluokta, and then climb up.
Few questions:
- I am planning to do it in August, which I understand is one of the better months to hike up north. But there is a chance that I might need to push the date a bit as my friend may not get time off of work. In such a case, will this hike be doable in let’s say September - November?
- What is the best (cheap) way to travel from Stockholm to Kiruna? Trains are recommended (at least on the blogs I have been referring to) but I am on a tight budget so not sure whether it is the best way.
- Things that you think I should carry with me from Stockholm?
- If you have any other tips for 2 students on a tight budget, please feel free to share!
Thank you!

I meant to write September, August is fine.
The airline is SAS, and they don't have student discounts to my knowledge.
Since you don't qualify for the youth discount, I dont think there will be a big difference in price between train and plane

Probably not but the train will take something like 15-20 hours :D
So you burn at least two days of the trip when going by train.

Well flying makes more sense then, even though I guess a train journey would be more scenic :|
