I played the left 4 dead series a lot when I was younger. I haven't tried back 4 blood. What made the game flop?

The animations are jank, no mod support because they thought it will somehow increase map expansions sales. Support for the game ended (which if you do not allow for user submitted content ,is a big problem). The PvP sucks, it’s a survival game mode instead of being the classic vs mode we love from l4d2. That’s just at the top of my head, there was more.
