Hi! I'm looking for suggestions on cool places to stop in Sweden on a long road trip. We'll be driving from Røros Norway to Storuman Sweden, taking 84 into Sweden and E45 north to Storuman. I've been trying to find interesting places we can stop and see along the way, since it's an 8 hour drive. Food, history, scenery, etc. My 90 year old grandpa is on this trip, so anything too hikey or strenuous is out.

You'll get to see a lot of pine trees.

The first part of the trip you'll pass through some skiing resorts, Funäsdalen, Vemdalsskalet and Klövsjö with the usual activities not suitable for 90 year olds. However Vemdalen and Klövsjö are nice villages on this part of the road.

Klövsjö in particular is a nice village (it has been voted the prettiest village in Sweden) and has some nice food options as well, for instance Humleliret, which has some very nice Swedish-Mexican fusion food, they also make their own beer. https://oppistuggu.se/humleliret/

Near Klövsjö is the Fetjeåfallet water fall. Totally unsuitable for a 90 year old.

Östersund is the one city along your route. It has a nice museum, Jamtli. http://jamtlistage.wpengine.com/en/ which is worth a visit.

I am less familiar with the northern part of your trip, but Vilhelmina has an old wooden "church city". A small town of wooden houses built in the 1800s allowing people who lived far away from church would have somewhere to sleep. You'll realize why it was necessary to build it during your tenuous drive.
