Just saw a spectacular display in Zürich yesterday and I'm wondering for how long we will be able to see them. I mean, they are pretty terrible for the environment and the animals.. but they look and feel so good!

Switzerland produces aroung 37 Mt of CO2 every year. Fireworks account for - drum roll - 78 t or 0.0002% of it

The Zürifest attracts about 800k people each day. Lets assume that tenth of Switzerland is responsible for ALL the fireworks CO2 of the whole year. That's 97.5 g per person.

That's less than a kilometer of driving with a car. Anyone who goes on a joyride or used their car recreationally in any way can just stfu about fireworks.
