For some videos, if I lock my phone during playback, they will appear on my Lock Screen to be able to resume playback, this seems normal enough… but even after closer Voyager (I am using the native app), the video remains on the Lock Screen.

Is there a way to stop that?

This is iOS, not voyager, since voyager uses the apple SDK player, iirc

It's possible there could be a cleanup step when the app shuts down that clears out resources that were being used by the app. So yes, it is an iOS thing, but it is possibly also a Voyager thing.

This is only app i have ever have it happened to, so that’s not likely the case:

Same. I’ve been using Voyager in TestFlight for months and this started being an issue after an update as I hadn’t updated iOS. This is the only app this issue occurs with.

That said, I’ve not experienced it in a week or two so I wonder if it’s fixed in TestFlight.

Testflight is usually in sync with app store. Only when I have something a bit risky do I delay a bit.

Firstly, THANK YOU. Voyager is the best thing since Apollo and you’ve constantly and consistently made amazing strides with making this the best Lemmy client on any platform.

Secondly, I’ve tested repeatedly with different videos (and sources) from different instances etc and can’t recreate the bug. Hopefully OP can share some recreation steps as I can’t figure out how to (hopefully it was just a bug in iOS that they’ve since patched).

I started the video here: https://lemmy.ml/post/11425289

While the video was playing, I locked my device. Now, on the Lock Screen the video appears as seen in my screenshot.

If you just use a YouTube link, it won’t happen.

Apollo managed to solve it though…

🤔or you were just on a different iOS version at the time where Apollo was still alive

The iOS versions still would put a video on the Lock Screen if you locked the phone during playback, this is normal behavior and worked that way in Apollo.

The difference is, unlocking the phone and closing Apollo cleared it off the Lock Screen. That seems to be the key difference here, I can force Voyager closed but the video name remains on the Lock Screen.
