I've heard a lot of crazy things about Sweden in terms of metal music, I don't really believe in it much as a lot seems over the top and not that believable, I can just assume it's popular and that's it. Now, is rock really popular? and I mean not only classic rock but also modern rock that covers sub-genres like alternative metal/alt rock etc.

We have a lot of artists and the biggest festivals may attract "rockers" but the live rock scene is struggling. Not many indie bands or medium known acts play here compared to non-Scandinavian countries. On radio you will hear mostly mainstream pop/rap.
