Hidden gems, free-camping spots, good fishing lakes, waterfalls, festivals, loppis, local delicacies/produce, art etc. etc.

jr0s17aFlorarna nature reserve is a nice little spot about 2 hours north of Stockholm. Free parking on a couple of spots around the reserve and 5 small cabins you can use free of charge around the reserve. These cabins can't be booked in advance, it's first come first serve. But I would guess only 1-2 of them are used on any given weekday night during the summer (I believe all cabins come with outhouses). So it's a good option for a free night indoors during a longer road trip.
They do also have larger cabins for hire in advance.
