random musings (but basically instant pot FTW)

I got myself an instant pot for Christmas and it has been amazing on low energy / sad days. Today I was WFH and feeling terrible, but I managed to get rice on mid afternoon ((cup of rice, cup of water turn it on and wait for it to beep at me). Then I managed to saute some onions garlic etc, added lentils, random spices and some leftover tomatoes and I got yummo dal stew with the rice. Enough for a couple more meals too. And I feel much better for having eaten something hearty and homemade.

I realise when my energy is low I can chop a few things, but nursing multiple pots on the stove then cleaning them all up is too much. Having something that I can put stuff in and it does it all and just beeps when my stew/beans/whatever is ready is great.

Also been making yogurt in it which is also awesome.

I love this and it's exactly why I love my slow cooker. Fry up a bit of meat and onion. Chuck it in with some other stuff and the end of the day I have meals. Absolute bliss.

That sounds awesome. I wonder if I can use my rice cooker in the same way. It's a really good rice cooker with many settings.

ooh yeah maybe - people do all sorts of random things in rice cookers!
