You were close until you somehow came out with a gendered conclusion
The commonality is that they are publicly funded
Gender plays a major role in the shortages we're seeing: teachers and healthcare.
If we can't support mothers who want to work, we'll continue to have shortages. Men have never made up the majority of these jobs.
Ah my mistake, that explains why people always thought nurse meant female doctor
And famously through the 70s-90s there were massive shortages due to women staying home
