Whatever, it’s windy af, kids lose their toys, no biggie. But then I see a football exactly like this one neatly placed by the wheel of another (nice) car parked near mine.

Every year these groups use different, yet similar, methods to scope and scout, and every year people will claim that it's paranoia (or racism) to point out these methods. Yet somehow break-ins start happening like fucking clockwork after people have noticed these things. Every. Fucking. Year.
It's not paranoia to notice rocks places on every doorstep, nor is it paranoia to notice that the same van drives slowly past a neighborhood several times a night for a week. And if someone places footballs under multiple cars, it's most likely to scope if people are away on vacation or not.

jquxwh5Sometimes paranoia doesn't help though, like my in-laws that were panicking over the mysterious rocks that were appearing on their doorsteps every other weekend.
Until they realized their granddaughter was placing a rock there every time she visited them.

jqvnkw0They'll most likely won't steal your car. Only easy to sell parts. And if they wanted to steal your car, the steering wheel lock would barely add any extra time for them to break.
