Fuck all these fucking fucks, FUCK!
Democracy in Canada is a farse
This is democracy in action. Voting happened, MPs were elected, and a government was formed. Did the Premier need to put 'secrets' in the Mandate letters? No. Did he? Yes. Because you and I don't have the right to see those secrets, we don't get to see those letters. If this, and a lot of other good reasons not to vote CPC, end up changing the votes so another party forms the government, maybe the government then won't have secret mandate letters.
A majoriry with 34% of votes means pure democracy.... 70% of Canadians not voting because all the parties suck and we get stuck with ford because 40% of the 30% the population that did vote for that shithead...
Voting needs to be manditory/enforced (see Australia) to get democracy also there needs to be a none of the above on a ballot to show how many are displeased with the shitshow system we have.
Not voting is not an excuse when Doug is on the ballot, you still need to vote for the less sucky person.
It's time to admit that us Ontarians just suck on average.
Also, ridings.... This is a terrible system. A vote should be a vote, not clumped together with thousands of other votes and to take the highest % in that riding for an overall vote...
This is the main reason people do not vote. Because if youre in a lib or con rifing and ya vote for the unicorn YOUR VOTE DOESNT FUCKING MATTER
Coalitions. Look at Germany or other European countries. The winning side often forms Coalitions to stay in power. That means small and large parties can come together to beat the opposition and also have plenty of job opportunities.
What do ya think the NDP are to Liberals?
Bunch of yes men who make big scenes but little to no action
We shouldnt have to vote for the lesser of 2 evils.
What would you rather be shot by? A gun or a bow? Ya HAVE to choose!
Well personally I dont want to be shot, how do I vote to not be shot at?
You don't have to, and here we are with what IMO is the worst choice, because you didn't vote.
I did vote ya presumptious arse.
I hate mandatory voting. It should remain a civic duty. Not something that is enforced.
Instead have voting matter and educate people on it. Look at Hungary as an example. As shitty as their king might be currently, and they've voted him in four times already, the country has a consistent near 70% voter turn out, because people just know that not voting means you do not have the right to complain about the government or be angry about their policies when things don't go their way.
Australia has an 89% turn out... And that's the lowest turnout since it was enacted...
Right. But it's compulsory in contrast. Which still doesn't help the case.
