This is the best summary I could come up with:

Queensland Premier Steven Miles laughs nervously when he's asked about the Gabba stadium redevelopment for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

"I don't think there's anything wrong with listening to Queenslanders and responding to what they say," Mr Miles told ABC Stateline in his first sit down TV interview.

While he hasn't shied away from the fact he was the minister responsible for Olympic infrastructure under Annastacia Palaszczuk, as premier he did an about face on the $2.7 billion project.

The issue is a political hot potato for Labor, which was evident as Mr Miles again shifted in his position, telling the ABC he now doesn't have a preference for what happens to the project.

But one of Labor’s toughest challenges remains a series of poor poll results, which indicates voters aren't happy with the status quo and want a change of government at the upcoming state election.

While Mr Miles wasted no time putting his stamp on the government and signalling a clear difference between him and his predecessor, he admitted he would still seek counsel from Ms Palaszczuk.
