I wish Christian Selig would build Apollo into a Lemmy client

Whatever he decides to focus on next (after some deserved time off!), I think it’s safe to say that he’ll have the communities support ❤️

Open your internet browser. Go to wefwef.app. This is Apollo for Lemmy.

It doesn’t have all the fleshed out features Apollo did. Yes it looks extremely similar but there was a wealth of features included in it.

It’s being actively developed right now. If you're into software development it’s fun watching it being built on GitHub.

Apollo wasn’t built into what it was overnight. It took years. I know wefwef isn’t Apollo but it feels similar and is on its way to becoming feature-rich like Apollo once was.

Exactly. It's also impressive how fast the development is, especially when the project founder was still doing all of it by himself. Within something like a week, he built my favorite lemmy experience.

I wish the instances themselves had good web interfaces. It might attract way more users.

Oh for sure! Not trying to take anything away from the amazing development that WefWef continues to show!

Yep, and while it’s extremely impressive for a web app, it’s still not quite as smooth as a native one.

I’m using Memmy on ios and it’s a great experience.
