Hej :) I have cycled through Scandinavia and fell in love with scandinavia, I am planing on moving to Scandinavia but I can not decide on which country. Actually i was Planung to move to Sweden and also speak A2 level Swedish but the government is more on the right wing side.

I am F. early 20 asian looking human rights activist deeply believe in a cosmopolitan system, democracy, care a lot about the lgbtq+ community and dislike „Asian“ style parenting and that family hierarchy stuff. I am afraid of racism and disacceptance for me as a human being. As German, people here can be quite racist, Germans never saw me as German, often ask me where I „really“ from, kids on the street do Asian eye gesture… even my friends often ask me about Asian country and culture related stuff. I have just as much knowledge as most of the Germans do. Why is that different? So which of these two countries might suit me better? Or maybe none of them?

I offer: skiing skills, alpine climb experience, love for licorice, dried fish and BUTTER. Out going, activism for human rights, love big dogs, MBA in mathematics, ironman distance Triathlet, lifeguard license, bad dad jokes! a living 4 year old sourdough starter! I can make 11 different German breads. Please take me Scandinavia 😅

Northern Sweden is a good choice for work and cheaper although still expensive housing. Umeå is extremely left wing lbtq friendly with a very large percentage of students and young people. Also has a large contingent of both immigrants and foreign students so being asian is if anything a bonus. I think you would like it there.

Thank you for your comment. It’s really nice to see people here actually telling me: Sweden is nice and not pushing me towards norway. No offense on norway, Norway is amazing I won’t immediately going to move in 2025. so there is still time for me to decide and learn the languages.

Are you gonna work in the said country as well, or do you have the work sorted out when you move?

I have a job now and I have worked with a major Silicon valley company so i am not worried about finding a job. But i think it might be fair to tax there, where you live to contribute your part to the society.

For sure. Just beware that the job market up north is slower as well. If you're able to work remotely to say Germany, you'll be relatively rich in Umeå.

Very cool! Then I’ll go and buy two mangos make a fruit salad and share it with my neighbours over bonfire. :) Money won’t make anyone happy, for myself speaking as someone who cycled though many counties and sleeps in tents. It’s better to share and have a good community. I would be happy to work as teach or as lifeguard instead of working in a big profit oriented tech firm.
