I know, but that's the explanation (I think) of the joke.
It is the explanation. I thought the premise of the Simpsons as Asian would be a big enough sign that this is a question (why aren’t they yellow?) packaged as a ludicrous joke. I was wrong, apparently.
This happens all the time. people not getting an obvious joke or not getting that it's just an innocent joke. Already got myself banned from an instance for one of the most obvious dumb jokes one can find.
Especially when there’s potential for outrage
I think the main issue is that it just wasn't funny.
