looking at the detail of the water more closely, it seems like the water is a close up shot of a smaller wave that was photoshopped behind a person standing on a beach, so the scale makes it look huge. ive never seen a tidal wave though! maybe they have those same curves in big scale

nah not AI generated, I've been seeing this picture in memes for years, long before the AI craze. & note how in the bottom right the water seems to have a clean cut where it meets the sand, looks like a photoshop job to me
