Bears are actually nasty when they attack because they dont kill you, they just start eating you. They put a paw on your chest so your ribs cracks like a bag of chopsticks under a car and then just takes bites from your soft parts, stomache theighs, pelvis. Lol, that being said we do not got grizzly and we do not have polar bears, we got brown bear wich isnt winnie the poo. There are parts of Sweden that has quite alot but like someone said unless you actively try and look for them, Chances are very rare that you encounter them. They found one just the other week on an island just outside Stockholm, in the archipelagio so they are pretty much everywhere but extremely rare that south, They like the north west parts of Sweden more so than other parts. Unless you go to those remote places, dont think about it ;)

I dont read the news.was it a boar? Hilarious. Fact still stands bears do sometimes wander down from the nortwest.

You thinking im a city person for not knowing if the initial news was correct or not is quite funny to me. Id say it makes you look more of a city person than me.

Not you, but the people who reported it in to the police.

I thought that was obvious I meant the people who reported it in in the first place as they couldn't see the difference between a bear and a pig.

I dont think brown bear in sweden is the same species as the brown bear in north america. Just because they are listed as subspecies does not mean they are pretty much the same.. a tiger and a lion is subspecies to eachother but you wouldnt call them to be pretty much the same.

Swedish brown bear have a diffrent character and look than a grizzly. I think you confused north american brown bear with euroasian brown bear, they differ aswell.
