I mean, people can work at a large company like Apple just for the salary. It's pretty naive to assume any or all of those laid off worked at Apple long-term and were loyal to their employer because of the marketing prestige.
I don't disagree but this sort of "so apparently THIS is how Apple treats us" thing just screams "I never thought leopards would eat MY face."
I don't think that's the point of the post. Layoffs are inevitable for most companies, especially tech companies. The point is to draw attention to layoffs which are being obfuscated (presumably to avoid announcing layoffs). That's to do with a bad business practice by a huge publicly traded entity, not their responsibility as an employer to do right by their employees
