How do you get registered if registration is always closed?

lemmy.ml have been turning their registration off and on in order to handle influxes of accounts and give themselves time to upgrade their servers to handle more people.

Having said that, you already have a lemmy.world account and can subscribe/comment/post/ upvote downvote any community in lemmy.ml with it.

Still trying to understand how all of this works. It’s incredibly confusing.

Think of Lemmy.world as iOS and Lemmy.ml as Android. Both are able to talk on Whatsapp if that makes sense. You can see, comment and subscribe to Lemmy.ml content even if you are using Lemmy.world.
