We will definitely have burgers and hot dogs, probably potato salad, but I like to try a new dish or two on holidays. Gives me a good reason to go all out.

So what are you making? Are you keeping it totally traditional? Do you have a family fav that shows up at these events? Any out of the box suggestions or twists on an old favorite?

I won't really be doing a ton of actual celebrating or anything because I'll be spending the day helping someone move - but go-to "I need this for the 4th" food is Pretzel Jell-O Sallad.

Mind you, I skip the actual strawberries and just do extra Jell-O instead, but I am a huge fan of this and I make it probably more often than many people would like me to.

This has me so curious, never heard of it. Got a base recipe to reference?

Pretzel jello is the fucking best. Be careful bringing it places, as you will turn into the Pretzel Jello guy.
