The BBC likes to tow the government line. Sunak has his MPs snapping at his heals and Johnson has been giving evidence with the covid inquiry. Anything to take the eye off the ball. Any other time and this would not even get a mention because it actually shames the government. Just not as badly as the other instances I mentioned.

What the hell are you talking about? The Covid enquiry has been streamed live on the front page of the BBC News website every day it has been on with live text commentary on the knots that ministers are tying themselves into alongside. It’s been in position 1 2 or 3 on the app most if the time.

The BBC 5 Live radio schedules have been taken apart to broadcast testimony and cross examination live.

The only thing that has typically knocked it off the top has been Gaza or another government fuck up like Rwanda.

And OP, th oh s is not just a tragedy, this is a story about evidence presented to an enquiry looking at how a state inspection system drove a woman to suicide and the evidence rhea the enquiry received.

First off this is not just the covid inquiry as a whole. This is Johnson, the main protagonist behind the Covid enquiry and the most damaging subject of that enquiry. The guy who was responsible for the decision making behind faults of the enquiry. He is also a buffoon who cannot hide from his mistakes. Wanting to keep him specifically out of the limelight is beneficial to the perception of how the Tories are ran.

I see you do not mention the issues that Sunak is facing. Sunak is an impending change of government. The same government that imposed those events that led to that lady's demise. You would think this is immensely more noteworthy than an individual's plight.

And yes there is coverage of the inquiry. That was part of the funding for the inquiry. It is meant to be public. But like all things political there is a bandwidth to what the public look at. That bandwidth is dictating by media coverage and how much is pushed front and centre. My point was that the BBC is sadly lacking in pushing events front and centre that are considered damaging to the Tory party. Even the title of the subject created by the OP is stating that this is OTT for the subject matter at hand.

Yes - and Johnson’s testimony was front and centre on the news pages for the whole day yesterday. The lead story was Sunak’s Payments to Rwanda and the resignation of Cleverley.

Sunak’s testimony is next week and will be covered and picked over in detail.

There’s no conspiracy here.

No one said there is a conspiracy. The BBC has blatant bias issues. What do you think the Lineker was about and the subsequent resignation that followed it. Bloody hell even Emily Maitlis took the effort to diss the BBC when she left.
